Because letting your lasers run for a full cycle is inefficient (asteroids will often be depleted with a great deal of time remaining in a cycle) you should never let your laser to perform a full run of 180 seconds for Strip Miners or 60 seconds for Mining Lasers. Instead you should reset your lasers between 80-120 seconds for Strip Miners and 48-55 seconds if you're using Mining Lasers. Even if you end up running more Mining Cycles in the end this is very important for overall efficiency.
A Retriever with :
-- 2 x Strip Miners
-- 20.000 m3 Cargo
-- 1230 m3 (the amount of ore each Strip Miner mines in a full 180 second cycle) )
First you must determine the Time required to fill up your cargo hold. To find that just follow the above brief and replace the values with your own.
2 * 1230 = 2460 --- the amount of ORE you'll get in 180 sec with 2x Strip Miners
20.000 / 2460 = 8.2 --- the approximate number of cycles required to fill the hold. (Note that this is not the number of cycles you need to set in the STEALTH-MINER settings.)
8.2 * 180 = 1476seconds - the time required to fill up your hold. (Approximately 25 minutes.)
Now, depending on how many cycles you want to run (9, 10, 11, 12 . . .)
If you set up the EVE bot to do9mining cycles for each run , you can determine the time you need for each cycle like this:
1476 sec/ 9= 164 seconds for each cycle. (So 164 is the number you put into the settings for Reset Lasers Every... sec. 9 is the number you'll need to put in for Mining Cycles until full cargo.) So the bot will reset your lasers every 164 seconds and will perform 9 mining cycles to fill the ship's hold.
So now you have the basic information you need in order to execute the perfect mining run.
- Reset Lasers Every: 164 sec
- Mining Cycles : 9
You can add to this the following rough guidelines (which you should refine):
- Target time : 4-5 seconds (based on ship targeting time and your targeting skills)
- Warp to Belt Time : 75-80 seconds (your ship handling skills and the orientation of the station and the belts will affect this)
With this setup each run will last around 27 minutes, including flight time to and from the station. This is quite efficient.
Of course you can fit Mining Laser Upgrades on your ship and increase your yields. Mining implants and skills also have an effect on this. So go ahead and calculate your own yield and use that to determine how many cycles you will need, as well as what your reset time should be. Mining Lasers will obviously need more cycles to recover as much ore as Strip Miners, but the basic formula remains the same.
ATTENTION: Retriever and Venture pilots !
If you use EVE mining ships like Venture or Retriever you should note that those ships are designed for beginners, so are limited in many ways, especially the lack of Capacitor energy. While mining with a Venture you can use Miners Tech 1 without problems, but if you intend to use Miners Tech 2 it's mandatory to fit on your ship in Medium and Low slots modules like: Capacitor Recharger, Capacitor Power Relay etc... to can boost capacitor and sustain the Lasers from your ship during mining session ! Otherwise, after few mining cycles, your ship capacitor will be empty and your lasers can not be activated. Retriever also need those modules to boost the ship capacitor energy and to sustain the Strip Miners.
- How do I set up STEALTH MINER for efficient ORE mining?

-How do I set up STEALTH MINER for efficient ICE mining?
If you intend to mine ICE you must calculate the full time to fill your cargo and use only one mining cycle.
A Mackinaw with :
-- 2 x Ice Harvesters
-- 34000 m3 Cargo
-- 210 seconds (for each harvester to produce one piece of ice )
To fill your ore hold cargo you need 34 pieces of ice. Having 2x Ice Harvesters equiped on ship this means you get 2x ice pieces every 210 seconds and you should run 17 complete "cycles" to fill your hold.
So 210 (seconds to harvest 2x ice pieces) * 17 ("cycles") = 3570 seconds.
At this point you have the setup information you need :
- Mining Cycles : 1
- Reset Lasers Every: 3570 seconds
- Recommended: enable Set all Lasers on same Asteroid
So using these numbers a single run would take just a bit over an hour when you include transit time. You should of course take your own configuration into consideration and figure out your own time to harvest a piece of ice. Utilizing your own numbers will make the process more efficient. (You should also consider to equip your ship with ICE Harvester Upgrades and/or Medium ICE Harvester Accelerator Rigs)
If you are an ice miner you can use the Minimize EVE while Mining ICE option to minimize your EVE client(s) while you are using STEALTH-MINER during the ice mining process.
-How do I protect my ship with defensive modules and shield boosters?
Be very careful if you intend to use Shield Boosters to defend your vessel. You must be absolutely sure that your ship has enough capacitor in order to activate and run your Shield Boosters at any period of time. If your ship will run too low on capacitor energy to power your lasers or warp you should not use them. As an alternative you can use Shield Extenders for a much more efficient (capacitor-wise) bit of additional protection. Failure to properly account for your defensive module power needs during mining operations can mess up your mining operations. Potentially until you return to the keys.
-How do I fit my ships when I use STEALTH MINER on multiple EVE accounts?
If you use STEALTH - MINER PROorSTEALTH - MINER SUPER PROversion, and you want to run multiple accounts on the same PC it is imperative that you use ships and pilots with nearly identical fittings and skills. This will be more efficient, as your numbers are configured only once.
-What kind of rights do I need to have in Windows in order to use STEALTH MINER?

As many of the pilots know, using one EVE mining account with a decent equiped mining barge (Retriever), the standard ISK income in high security solar systems from 1.0 to 0.5, is between 8mil ISK and 10mil ISK per hour. This ISK income can be increased up to 14-15 mil ISK per hour if you already have good mining skills and you pilot a well equiped mining barge, like Hulk or Mackinaw.
Of course, the revenue is doubled if you preform minning with 2(two) EVE mining accounts ( PRO version supports simultaneously mining with 2x accounts on the same PC) or even tripled with 3x EVE mining accounts (using the top version SUPER PRO, you'll be able to run simultaneously 3x mining accounts on the same PC using)
If you want to rake even more the of ISK , by performing minig is low security systems under 0.5 to 0.0 , you should keep in mind that risk is also increased, Concord can not protect you against player pirates and here you'll face strong NPC's too.
However, the best way to find out your own ISK revenue per Hour/Day, using your current mining ship, is to download the free EVE Bot Trial version, set up it as per Tutorial and folow the tips for efficient ORE or ICE mining.
